Everyone loves coming home. But as a commercial pilot who spends most of the week flying to and from Tokyo, Madrid and Rome, you particularly love it. Every time you pull into the drive and see your traditional Bungalow you smile; there’s nothing like a little familiar tradition to warm your heart after spending days in countries whose traditions still elude you.
One of your favorite things about this house is having the master bedroom upstairs. This means you can peek on the kids – who always try and stay awake to see what gifts you brought when you get in at 2am and try tiptoeing upstairs.
You’re also a fan of the large screened in porch which provides a great indoor / outdoor living space and refuge from bugs and mosquitoes. Sure, you love to fly, but that doesn’t mean you want them in your potato salad!
The studio over the garage has been converted into an apartment so when your in-laws (who refuse to wear their hearing aids) come for a visit, you don’t have to listen to them shouting at each other.
But perhaps your favorite room in the house is the living room with its wood-burning fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and doors that open to the backyard. When you are home, you like to entertain, and this living room is the perfect spot for holiday parties and hours of charades after guests have had a few cocktails – or as you insist on calling them – cockpit tales.
