The Manzanita as a Gingerbread House!

We could hardly believe it when we received the e-mail from Emily of South Carolina who has fallen in love with our Manzanita plan. She’s planning to build a full size version of her own in the near future. But, for now, she built – and we mean built! – a gingerbread version of it, complete with a paper model as a guide.

I decided to do a gingerbread house for Christmas this year (My first one ever!) and I thought I’d try to make it look like our Manzanita. There are definitely some proportion issues… that porch roof was crazy difficult haha! … and I moved the chimney to the back, but all in all I think it was pretty successful!

We hope you enjoy the photos she sent as much as we do – not just the finished product, but her intricate process. We’re impressed!

Love it! When I was a kid, my Dad made a balsa wood miniature… so that he could better understand the blueprints of his renovation. If he had made it out of gingerbread… he would have had helpers.
