For buyers of home lots, blank canvases of sorts for building a dream vacation home, stock plans represent a way to save money and to streamline the road to construction to get into that vacation home as soon as possible. Christian Gladu, co-owner of the Bungalow Company says: “Modified stock plans can be out the door in less than six weeks for a fraction of what a set of custom plans cost.”

BunglowCompany-designed home awarded Grand Prize

In May 2007, Better Homes and Gardens saluted the winners of their home improvement challenge. A Bungalow Company designed home took top honors. Homeowners Joey and Mike McKay looked knew a a Craftsman-style house would complement their new neighborhood. A mostly stock plan from the Bungalow Company perfectly met Joey and Mike’s wish for historic bungalow character and the need for a roomy master suite, up-to-date kitchen, and two and a half baths.
